Distribution Fuse Links to BS88 :
Part 5 : 1980

Type

KEW Type 'J' fuse links are for use in electricity supply distribution networks. They are installed in distribution boards feeder pillars, link boxes, pole mounted cut-outs and heavy duty service intakes. Barrel dimensions less than the permitted maxima & tags with radiused edges assist "hingeing-in". All fuse links are of the slotted tag pattern specified in BS 88: Part 5 and are universally interchangeable with non slotted pattern previously used in some installations. KEW Type 'J' low voltage fuse links are totally certified and available in rating upto 630A in four body sizes.

RANGE

In addition to the standardized current ratings and dimensions specified in BS 88: part 5 for 82mm and 92mm fixing centers fuse links, other non-standard ratings are available in these sizes, together with a similar ratings upto 250 A. High Breaking Capacity

They comply with requirement of BS 88: Part 5: 1980 (including amendment No.2). To cater for increasing fault levels all fuse links have a rated breaking capacity of 80 KA.

Low temperature Rise

The unique wedge tightening action of the 'J' type fuses coupled with low power dissipation fuse links gives on extremely reliable contact arrangement.

Power dissipations substantially below the specified limits result not only in low temperature rises but also in savings through reduced on-load energy losses.

Characteristics

When tested in accordance with the requirements of BS 88: PS Part 5 the fusing factor of the complete range falls into class Q1. Special care has been taken to ensure that the "watts losses" are contained within the latest specification requirements.
